The Last Ride: The Undertaker

One of WrestleMania’s, and arguably wrestling’s, most memorable moments was Brock Lesnar breaking Undertaker’s streak at WrestleMania XXX. Even the famous image of ‘Taker flat on his back as the screen looming above displays the 21-1 graphic is enough to give fans goosebumps. However, the man at the heart of the moment remembers it primarily from watching it back.

Though ‘Taker previously told Stone Cold Steve Austin that a mid-match concussion led to him not recalling anything about the match, the footage itself and the aftermath was shocking.

‘Taker elaborated that even at the later date of the documentary, he didn’t remember the match and wasn’t sure at what point he was concussed. The last memory of the day he could pinpoint was at 3:30 that afternoon. ‘Taker’s wife, and Divas Era icon, Michelle Calaway (née McCool) recalled her husband was unable to remember his name until 4:00am.

Fans get a brief glimpse of Vince McMahon’s panic, as he his shown rushing through the curtain shouting for medical help. WWE Athletic Trainer Larry Heck described the “happy dazed look” on ‘Taker’s face, which let him know that something was seriously wrong.
