1. Upset Kid

A shock result unlike just about any other in the history of the organisation, The 1-2-3 Kid's victory over Razor Ramon was arguably the greatest upset the company ever orchestrated.

Kid had taken a kicking in previous weeks, and looked on a hiding to nowhere bar another hiding in the early stages of his clash with 'The Bad Guy'. Foreshadowing their enduring real life friendship, the two made each other megastars in a protracted beating that launched one career and completely redefined another.

The future X-Pac was exquisite squash fodder at the time, with his youthful expression and diminished physical presence only emphasised further by the relative giants of the day. Razor delighted in lighting his young foe up with chops that sounded like they'd sliced his pectoral muscles in half.

Toying with him from that point, Ramon looked set to put the unknown away until he dazed himself on the steel post. Kid struck with an instinctive moonsault, stole the pin, then ran like f*ck. It was spectacular.

Razor was incandescent with rage in the ring and wailed empty protests at the commentators as he absorbed the shock. The feud would ultimately humanise 'The Bad Guy' and establish Kid as the roster's most talented high flyer. Set against some of 2017's biggest booking catastrophes, it's only more of a novelty to watch such a perfect presentation.
