10 Most Shocking WWE Raw Manhattan Centre Moments

7. Hulk Hogan's Change Of Hart

Money Inc Brutus Beefcake

So yes, all of Beefcake's tacit emotional blackmail was all designed to rev fans up for the return of an icon after just under a year away from the glare of the global media.

Hogan had left under a real life cloud in 1992, darting out of the spotlight to try and avoid any further scrutiny over alleged steroid use in the 1980s. A decidedly smaller 'Hulkster' returned to Monday Night Raw to the delight of the New York crowd, to reintroduce his friend to the end Beefcake and their new manager Jimmy Hart.

According to Hogan, Brutus would have been as good as dead had it not been for Jimmy (and God), and that was good enough to ignore years of the 'Mouth Of The South' leading charges against the good ship Hulkamania. Furthermore, the pair were headed to WrestleMania, keen to take revenge and Money Inc's titles on the 'Show Of Shows'.

Watching now, there's a palpable sense of foreboding knowing how short-lived Hulk's tenure would be. He's already not quite a fit anymore, and wouldn't be again until his 2002 nostalgia return.
