The Steiner Brothers were sadly on the downward slide of a criminally short 1993/1994 WWE run when they encountered new doubles unit The Quebecers on the last Manhattan Center Raw of the year.

The company had already taken the show on the road a number of times throughout the year, and mounting debts as an industry at large continued its bitter decline required Raw to become part of the never-ending arena tour like every other show.

Affording the New York loyalists one final major angle, WWE worked around an impending suspension for the future 'Big Poppa Pump' by having Rick and Scott lose the titles to Jacques and Pierre in cynically cheap fashion.

Relatively new on the scene but categorically not 'The Mounties', the devilish duo and Johnny Polo were fiercely capable villains, and employed their own rigged rules to steal the straps from the far superior Champions. Fought under 'Quebec Province' stipulations, the Canadians lured hothead Scott into using a hockey stick, drawing a disqualification that in this case, triggered a title switch.

Rick and Scott worked their last WWE pay-per-view on the night The Quebecers caused the fractious break up of Bret and Owen Hart. The Steiners at least escaped with their relationship in tact.
