3. Hart Attack

Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan made an art-form of the 'your mum' years before it even existed during his feud with the Big Boss Man, but Jerry Lawler found new highs (or lows) for the genre in his caustic takedowns of Stu and Helen Hart during his years-long rivalry with Bret Hart.

The presentation of 'The King's latest acerbic assault was uniquely reliant on the intimacy of the Manhattan Center itself. Midway through Bret's encounter with Bam Bam Bigelow, Lawler appeared on the front row of the balcony where Stu and Helen were seated.

Suggesting that the parents of 12 had 'produced more tragedies than Shakespeare', Lawler's save some of his sharpest barbs for the Hart matriarch. He instructed Helen first to 'mumble a little louder', then to 'put your false teeth in backwards and eat yourself to death', before also implying that baby Bret was 'so ugly that she diapered the wrong end'.

Barking through the house microphone, Lawler rattled off countless one-liners in the face of the bewildered septuagenarians, drawing Hart away from his clash. Bret would lose by count out giving chase, but he wasn't quick enough to douse Jerry's fire.
