The Royal Rumble approaches, and with it come a bazillion different predictions on who'll be The Guy to take the WWE World Heavyweight Championship feud flying into Wrestlemania. The 30-man, 60-minute brawl isn't all about the winner, however: there'll also be surprise entries, unexpected returns and, quite possibly, some shocking eliminations that we just never saw coming. Throughout the years the Rumble has gifted us some of the most jaw-dropping moments in WWE history, making five-minute legends out of nobodies and embarrassing some of the company's biggest names by dumping them over that top rope in the most unimaginable way possible. Let's get to it and count down the 10 Most Shocking Royal Rumble Eliminations ever!

10. Shawn Michaels Eliminates Yokozuna And Vader (1996)

To put this in perspective: this is basically like Seth Rollins eliminating Braun Strowman and Big Show at once today. Michaels, the year's previous winner, was an obvious favourite heading into this match, and his amazing showing one year prior put everyone on notice as to his amazing abilities on the big stage, but even most diehard HBK fanatics couldn't have forseen something like this happening. Spotting superheavyweight duo Vader and Yokozuna battling on the very edge of the ring and trying to push each other over the top rope in the process, Michaels took advantage of the situation, throwing his full weight at both men to send them both hurtling over the top. The crowd went bananas. Vader, as you can see in the shot above, was not very impressed. The big grump.
