10 Most Shocking WWE Superstar Releases Of 2014

10. JTG

JTG was one of several WWE Superstars to be released on June 12th 2014. It may have been a long time coming, seeing that his tag team partner Shad Gaspard was released four years earlier, and JTG hadn€™t been featured much, if at all by the WWE in the years following. It became a running gag in the IWC, keeping track of how long JTG had been employed by the WWE (7 Years, 30 Days, 25 Minutes and approximately 12 seconds), and many legitimately wondered how he avoided so many rounds of cuts despite being used sparingly at best. His luck ran out on that Thursday in June and if anything, it actually became more of a shock that WWE actually decided to finally cut him after he dodged the bullet for so many years. Say what you will about JTG, but he was a fine worker that had some charisma. Cryme Tyme worked on many levels because of his charisma. The fact that the WWE couldn€™t find a way to utilize him for four years is more on them than it is on JTG, because there was a lot of possibilities for the guy. He was big into working out, as evidenced by his frequent tips on Body Spartan. Why not have him be that guy as a WWE character. A guy really into working out. Hell you could have even toyed with the idea of making him an actual modern day Spartan. Another possibility was forming a Tag Team with David Otunga called Law and Disorder. You have the lawyer and the thief of the WWE get together as an odd couple and the results could have been hilarious. JTG showed an ability to make up for a tag team partner€™s lack of prowess in the ring as a member of Cryme Tyme, so picking up the slack for Otunga wouldn€™t have been much different, and the backstage segments with them could have been really funny. Bringing them together would have been easy too, just have JTG hire Otunga as his lawyer to get out of a robbery charge. These guys had the potential to be the Carlton Banks and Will Smith of the WWE, in their own way. Alas, what could have been.
