In the most bizarre firing in 2014, Emma was released by the WWE on July 2nd when word of her being arrested for shoplifting in Connecticut broke. It was said she was trying to thieve a $21 case for an iPad, only for the Australian Diva to be rehired within hours. Her story is that she simply forgot to pay for the item before leaving, which is pretty believable given the low price of the item in question. Was it this reasonable explanation that led the WWE to reconsider their swift firing of the quirky Diva? Possibly. All that really matters is that this talented Diva didnt get the axe. Losing her would have been a travesty, because in a pretty thin Divas division, shes one of the ones that can really work (her submission finisher looks more devastating than any submission the men are doing). She knocked matches out of the park on NXT earlier in the year, and though she hasnt yet shown it on the main roster, she will eventually show everybody why shes one of WWEs best, because the cream always rises to the top. Emmas release and subsequent rehiring is definitely the strangest personnel decision the WWE made all year, which without question makes it one of the most shocking.
