24 hours before Seth Rollins would destroy The Shield with a shocking turn on Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose, he almost destroyed himself as part of a three-on-three elimination brawl with Evolution.

After months of battling between the warring factions, tensions came to a head at June 2014's Payback event, as Triple H, Randy Orton and Batista asserted their authority on the three upstarts by picking them apart individually by the staging area.

With Seth seemingly subdued following a Pedigree, the trio took out Dean Ambrose with a DDT on the floor, and looked set to decimate Roman Reigns in similar fashion, until Rollins emerged high above them all on the elevated TitanTron platform.

With a breathtaking leap, Rollins took down all the members of Evolution, leaving the exhausted remains of all six men scattered in the aisle ahead of a closing sequence which saw The Shield score pinfalls on all three heels to conclusively decide the feud.
