10 Most Significant Reasons For WWE Raw's Low Ratings

2. The Fans In Attendance Don't Make Enough Noise

One of the biggest problems with establishing new stars in WWE is that when they get paired with John Cena, the fans focus almost exclusively on him. They chant €˜Let€™s go Cena/Cena sucks€™, putting all of the attention on him instead of on his opponents. This focus perpetuates the idea that Cena€™s the biggest act on the show, and so the programming should be centered on him. Instead, fans should simply chant for someone else, which would help give the idea that there€™s more to WWE programming than John Cena. Moreover, it€™s these fans who fail to make the shows livelier, even though they have the power to make or break a show. As the Great Muta once said, North American fans aren€™t just attendees, they€™re match producers. The fans who attend shows like RAW and SmackDown have the power to elevate a match by adding more crowd noise, or making it worse by sitting there doing nothing. jIf fans made more noise like they used to, and did so for more than just the main-eventers, that would have a psychological effect on viewers at home, who€™d hear the loud noise and think €˜they like this wrestler€™, which would in turn encourage TV viewership. That is, of course, unless the rumors are true, and the production team actually does manipulate crowd noise to make certain reactions louder and others quieter.
