Which brings us to Rick and Scott, the Steiner Brothers. The Steiners won gold in WCW on seven occasions, but despite this being three fewer times than Harlem Heat, they managed to hold onto the belts for 50 days more, cumulatively. The Steiners were arguably the MVPs of tag team wrestling in the early '90s, not quite as popular as the Road Warriors but every bit as savage and legitimate.

They had a briefer than brief run in the World Wrestling Federation too, where they won gold on two occasions. Rick Steiner actually sits on top of the WWE list when it comes to win percentages too, which goes to show just how immensely protected they were whilst working for Vince McMahon.

Rick and Scott also won NWA gold in Mid-South, giving them a grand total of 32 points for this list. If we were taking Japanese titles into account this would have been higher, but something tells me they don't care. Scott Steiner has never been one for maths.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
