10 Most Surreal Moments In UFC History
1. A Brawl Erupting After The UFC 229 Main Event
The rivalry between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov is undoubtedly one of the most heated and vitriolic in the history of the UFC.
Though the pair would eventually find themselves on a collision course at the top of the heap in the lightweight division, things weren't always quite so unfriendly.
In fact, Khabib once took to Twitter to congratulate the Irishman, after McGregor's victory over Dustin Poirier at UFC 178.
But in 2016 when The Notorious made history as the first simultaneous double champion in UFC history against Eddie Alvarez, he had done so by taking the title opportunity that had been initially slated to go to the Russian, and it's fair to say Khabib wasn't happy about it.
When the two finally faced off at UFC 229, the bad blood between the pair reached new levels, with both men trading insults at just about every chance they got.
Ultimately, Nurmagomedov would have the last laugh in the cage, as he defeated McGregor with a fourth-round submission, but the action was most certainly not over there.
After referee Herb Dean ended the bout, Khabib leapt over the cage to engage in a brawl with McGregor's teammates, particularly Dillon Danis. The action continued in the cage too, with McGregor scrapping with some of the Russian's corner for good measure.
The biggest fight in the history of the sport ending in such shameful scenes was completely surreal and worthy of the number 1 spot on this list.
