10 Most Terrifying Wrestlers Of All Time

3. Mankind

Though he would later find success as a comedy act, there was nothing funny about the Mankind that debuted in WWE back in the late-'90s.

From speaking to his pet rat George to pulling his own hair out, early Mankind was a disturbing individual. His iconic 1997 promo, in which the schizophrenic mad man attacked Jim Ross on Raw, was some of his best work. The incident also helped Mankind establish himself as a truly unpredictable individual.

The master of the mandible claw's creepy persona made him the perfect rival for The Undertaker in what would become (arguably) the most memorable feud of The Attitude Era. Foley's willingness to take excessive abuse, as he did in his legendary Hell in a Cell match, only served to make the deranged character even more believable.

These days, Mick Foley often portrays a teddy bear-like authority figure. However, in his prime, he was a pretty scary dude.
