10 Most Terrifying WWE Stipulations Ever

4. Inferno

Just as the aesthetics of the Buried Alive match can be regarded as just as crucial a part of its terrifying nature, the same can be said of the seldom-seen Inferno match. The sight of flames jumping higher and higher with each bump taken onto the canvas is one of the most dramatic in wrestling - the match is guaranteed to result in a few moments where the safety of both men involved is of genuine concern, but the WWE seem to do an excellent job of keeping such a dangerous situation under control. While the Buried Alive match is regarded as the Undertaker's signature match, the Inferno stipulation can be seen as Kane's counterpart. He has been involved in all four Inferno matches (losing three) and is probably the best-suited wrestler to the stipulation with his towering stature, bright red attire, and reportedly safe working style. With the WWE now firmly in PG territory and Kane rumoured to be approaching retirement, this is one match we may never again see in mainstream wrestling.
