5. Shawn Michaels
Just asking the man himself now will reveal the fact that Shawn Michaels was incredibly difficult to deal with during the 90's. With a chip on his shoulder the size of the world, Michaels was the living embodiment of a performer feeling self-entitled to success, and not caring who knew it. It was a long road to the WWF Title for HBK, and it's understandable that he'd want to bask in the moment, but hearing him write in his WWE-published book, 'Heartbreak & Triumph' that he informed the referee to tell Bret Hart to 'get the hell out' of his ring at WrestleMania XII speaks volumes about how truly arrogant Michaels was around this time. As it that wasn't quite enough, the man point blank refused to drop the belt back to Hart at 'Mania 13, instead choosing to vacate the belt during a tearful segment on a special episode of Raw in February, 1997. 'Losing his smile', the world-class performer had everyone in his back pocket, but it only served to build anger from Bret Hart towards him, something that would come to a head later in the year.
