1. Katie Vick
If there was ever a single storyline that exemplified why SmackDown was so much better than RAW during the initial Brand Extension era, it was this one. It remains one of the most disgusting, inappopriate and uncomfortable tales ever told on WWE programming, and did nothing but make everyone involved looks like idiots. For those who still dont know what this was about, the storyline was centered on Kanes girlfriend Katie Vick, whom he had allegedly killed in a car accident. Then, Triple H, RAWs then-World Heavyweight Champion and whom Kane was feuding with at the time, showed a video of Kane (actually HHH wearing Kanes mask), having sex with a mannequin, though in story its actually Katie Vicks body. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlpSsklsq2s Yes, WWE did a necrophilia angle on RAW. There are some occasions when WWE wants to use shock value to gain attention and fan interest, but this storyline was just uncomfortable; it had no redeeming qualities to it whatsoever. Fans mustve felt grossed out by the concept, especially when Triple H exclaims, I really screwed her brains out, and WWE mustve lost some fans who thought the segment was just too much, even by the TV-14 standards of the company at the time. No one won from this segment. WWE looked bad, the wrestlers involved looked bad, fans were uncomfortable, and people within the wrestling business shook their heads in collective shame and embarrassment.
