10 Most Under-Rated Steve Austin Matches Nobody Talks About

6. Vs. Dude Love (WWF Over The Edge 1998)

The only reason this particular match is so low down on the list is that many fans may recognise it more than others included. As Dude Love, Mick Foley was in his element. Getting to play a childhood creation on WWF television must have been very fulfilling, and Foley was a blast as Mr. McMahon's hand picked successor to Steve Austin. Just months into his first WWF Title reign, Austin was red hot. There's something really perfect about the whole scenario. As the 'Special Guest Referee', McMahon stacked the odds against the rebellious champion. Not only was he calling the shots, but Gerald Brisco and Pat Patterson were involved. Only The Undertaker was in Austin's corner, more so to ensure that the match progressed fairly. The last few minutes of the bout make it all worthwhile. When people discuss the best that the 'Attitude Era' had to offer, this is what they're talking about. Mayhem ensues and even Jim Ross on commentary loses his cool more than once. It's difficult not to get goosebumps when looking back to this one, because it's extremely well laid out. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2b8eqy_stone-cold-steve-austin-vs-dude-love-over-the-edge-full-match-hq-2_sport
