4. Daniel Bryan vs. Seth Rollins (Raw; June 10, 2013)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGLWPABTZF4 Daniel Bryan likely faced The Shield more than anyone else throughout 2013, but their bouts never grew tiresome or stale. That was because the matches Bryan had with The Shield, whether they were tag team contests or one-on-one affairs, were always excellent. But the one match fans were desperately anticipating was Bryan vs. Seth Rollins, which finally came to fruition on the June 10 edition of Raw. In a match voted on by members of the WWE Universe, it was simply surreal to see two of the biggest independent stars in the last decade square off in a WWE ring. And they definitely did not squander the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of a worldwide audience. The audience was engaged in the exciting acting every moment of the matchup and waited with bated breath to see who would emerge as the victor. Following a hard-fought war between two of the best in the business, Bryan just barely beat out the self-proclaimed architect of The Shield with an inside cradle. Two things became apparent on that night: both of them were destined for greater singles success and they deserved to be fighting each other over a world title. The latter sadly never transpired due to Bryan's abrupt retirement, but at least they had more matches against one another in the years that followed.
