10 Most Underrated Halves Of Famous WWE Tag Teams

2. Rick Martel (Strike Force)

It's not so much that "The Model" was overlooked while he was in the WWE. Far from it. As a singles competitor he had some great runs, specifically with Jake "The Snake" Roberts as well as a very creative, though unfortunately brief, feud with Shawn Michaels, who'd begun his own singles career around the same time as Martel. But even though Martel is a 3-time tag team champion, he's never really been given his due for how much he elevated the guys he partnered with. He was the ultimate worker, a guy who wanted to make everyone look their best, without a hint of ego about it. Tito Santana, the other half of Strike Force, never really looked like much of a worker until he paired up with Martel. It seems "The Model" rubbed off on him during their tenure together. Some have argued that Martel deserves a spot in the WWE Hall of Fame alongside the greatest wrestlers of all time. While that's debatable, there's no denying that he was able to take some truly middling talent and turn them into stars, even if it was only for a brief time.
