10 Most Underrated Halves Of Famous WWE Tag Teams

1. Marty Jannetty (The Rockers)

Who else was going to be number 1 on this list? Nobody--and I mean nobody--wants to be remembered as "the Jannetty" of their tag team. That term is now synonymous with being "the other guy," the one that everyone tends to forget because they get lost in the shadow of their more successful, more charismatic teammate. Marty Jannetty's biggest problem is that he wasn't Shawn Michaels. There was absolutely nothing wrong with Jannetty's in-ring abilities or mic skills, he just had the unfortunate luck of being paired with one of the greatest all-around performers in the history of the company, and one who was much more willing to play the politics game backstage. Naturally, it's easy in hindsight to look at The Rockers tag team run and pick out all the times where Michaels outperformed his partner. And yes, maybe Jannetty was holding him back, but that wasn't through any fault of his own. He certainly carried his own weight on the team and was as athletic as anyone around at the time. But again...he's not Shawn. That's probably what they'll put on his tombstone. "Here lies Marty Jannetty. He was a great guy. But he was no Shawn Michaels."
