When you're forced to get on your hands and knees and bark like a dog while your brother stands overtop you like your owner, it's probably safe to say you're not getting much respect from the fans or your peers. The only problem with Rick Steiner is that he didn't have the bodybuilder physique that his brother did. Another "problem," if you want to call it that, is that Rick never appeared to have an inflated ego like Scott--in or out of the ring. And in a business built around confidence, Scott would go on to use that arrogance to his advantage, bulldozing over a good chunk of the WCW while Rick was hung out to dry. It's also clear that, at the time of the tag team's breakup, WCW wasn't much interested in technical wrestling, which was Rick's bread and butter. They wanted larger than life personalities to go with unnaturally large biceps. Big Poppa Pump was born and, with it, Rick Steiner's career was virtually over.
