10 Most Underrated Superstars Of WWE's Ruthless Aggression Era
6. Shelton Benjamin
Although there are plenty of fans who feel like Shelton Benjamin never quite got the chance to prove himself as a viable main event contender, that's not exactly correct.
In fact, he received ample opportunities to prove himself and did just that dozens of times, but it seems WWE management was unwilling to acknowledge how ridiculously talented he was. It's almost like they never actually watched his matches and were just getting recaps from their easily excitable nephews.
"What did he do with the ladder? Ohhhh, that's nice. He launched himself into the Sweet Chin Music? That's great, kiddo. And when's your mom coming to pick you up again?"
Although he was able to bring some much needed pizazz and legitimacy to the Intercontinental belt during his three lengthy reigns, Shelton Benjamin had the look and the technical abilities to be a perpetual contender for the WWE Championship. They simply never gave him a push at the right time.
Sadly, it seems Benjamin's name only comes up when discussing innovative ladder-based maneuvers, which would normally be a fine legacy for an average WWE superstar. But Benjamin was leagues above the average WWE superstar.
