10 Most Underrated UFC Bouts Of 2019

3. Donald Cerrone Vs. Al Iaquinta (UFC Fight Night 151)

When you fight as much as 'Cowboy' Donald Cerrone does per year, a few of your bouts are bound to get lost in the shuffle.

His second round slobber-knocker loss to Tony Ferguson at UFC 238 and first round defeat at the hands of Lightweight top dog Justin Gaethje both stole the spotlight in terms of his blockbuster entries for 2019.

However, his underrated Fight of the Night match-up with Al Iaquinta at UFC Fight Night 151 definitely deserves to be held up to a similar level of regard.

Sizing each other up with testing jabs and body kicks in the first round, 'Cowboy' let his lethal high kick loose on a few occasions and gave 'Raging Al' a reason to be weary as the fight went on.

Iaquinta found his groove in the second, nullifying his rival's kicks and countering with a few sweet combinations of his own. He would then be knocked down towards the end of the third and again in the fourth, before eating some truly gruesome rights and lefts. This left Iaquinta's face looking not disimilar to Stephen King's Carrie and despite staying on his feet for much of the fight - throwing his own potentially fight-ending bombs all night long - Cerrone's impressive engine proved decisive.

A heroic (and bloody) performance from Iaquinta couldn't earn him victory in this war and the decision would deservedly be awarded to his opponent. But, his commitment to staying in this underappreciated fight surely earned him a great deal of respect from fans around the world - and the 'Cowboy' himself.
