10 Most Underrated Undertaker WWE Rivalries

2. Randy Orton

Outside of their WrestleMania 21 match, The Undertaker versus Randy Orton rivalry doesn't get a whole lot of kudos, which is a shame because their 2005 work together was (for the most part) really good. Their rivalry stretched from February, when Orton turned heel and put an end to his seriously disappointing face run, to December, when the two men clashed inside Hell in a Cell. In the buildup to their 'Mania match, Orton made it known that he wasn't afraid of the Undertaker by ignoring his supernatural mind games. He also made it apparent that he was willing to do whatever it took to win, turning heel by RKOing his on-screen squeeze Stacy Keibler. Despite a good effort, Orton became just another number in the streak on the night and then disappeared for a while to recover from shoulder surgery. Upon his return he rekindled his feud with The Dead Man, defeating him thanks to interference from his father, Cowboy Bob Orton (who was disguised as a fan). So far, so logical. Then the caskets got involved, and things turned a little silly (as they invariably do with The Undertaker). Still, it was fun to see the Ortons' cartoony expressions when they were confronted with dummys of themselves inside a casket. The father/son duo won a handicap casket match at No Mercy and then set the casket on fire (that never works). Their feud finally came to a conclusion at Armageddon in Undertaker's speciality match. This was a long, bloody affair and one of the more underrated Cell matches, it has to be said. Did the feud go on a little longer than it needed to? Possibly, but the pair had good chemistry together and it helped Orton find his groove after his dreadful face run.
