10 Most Underrated WWE Feuds Of The 2010s
8. CM Punk Vs. Rey Mysterio (2010)
There wasn't much to enjoy about the Straight Edge Society unless you're a mark for Joey Mercury, but one good thing to come out of it was the rivalry between Rey Mysterio and the group's leader, CM Punk.
While the tedious stipulations - stating Mysterio would have to join Punk's cult if he lost while Punk would be shaved bald if he lost - were entirely needless, they advanced the story immensely. If 'The Voice of the Voiceless' hadn't had his head bloodied by the clippers following their 2010 Over The Limit bout, the entire future of his career may have been different. With shorter hair came an entirely new character for CM Punk.
Those matches, stipulations aside, were often standout matches in an otherwise dire year for WWE pay-per-views.
Their WrestleMania 26 clash was overshadowed only by the iconic second 'Mania match between The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels, but Punk and Rey-Rey's follow-up bouts at Extreme Rules and Over The Limit were arguably the matches of the night. The latter of the two was an all-round classic that wasn't only a great in-ring bout, but also had a phenomenal display of storytelling.
They very easily could have phoned it in after their cracking 'Mania outing; that they didn't was pivotal to the immediate future of both men's careers.
