10 Most Underrated WWE Royal Rumble Performers

1. Chris Jericho

In at number one, it’s just about impossible to overlook Chris Jericho—the man who is currently just four minutes shy of having spent a cumulative four hours in the Rumble match.

Not only is that an incredible achievement in itself, but it also suggests that this year he’ll go on to breach the four-hour mark and become the first man in history to top 240 minutes in the Royal Rumble match.

Naturally, some of the stints along the way were absolute monsters. A shift of 38:54 in 2003 was followed up with 37:17 in 2009, but remarkably he seems to have saved his best outings for the twilight of his career. After making a surprise return at number two in 2013, he went on to last just shy of 48 minutes, before going 51 minutes and 20 seconds just last year at the 2016 show.

At this stage, pretty much the only thing missing from his Royal Rumble résumé is winning the actual thing outright—and as farfetched as it may sound, that’s something that isn’t entirely beyond the realm of possibility this year in 2017.

For the time being though, Jericho will have to settle for the not-at-all-coveted consolation prize of being cited as the most underrated, non-winning Royal Rumble performer in the 29-year history of the event. Drink it in, man.
