7. Carlito
Winning the US Title in his debut match against John Cena, Carlito Colon came in to WWE with a huge amount of momentum in October 2004. However, warning signs emerged when he was quickly booked to drop the title back to Cena in less than 30 seconds, bringing to an end his one month run as US Champ.
From there, his days on Smackdown were hit and miss, prompting a switch to the Raw brand and an Intercontinental Title victory over Shelton Benjamin. His initial time on Raw in 2005 had some clear highlights, notably teaming with Kurt Angle to battle Hulk Hogan and Shawn Michaels (the infamous bout that saw HBK turn heel on Hogan), while also allowing Carlito to challenge old rival Cena for the WWE Championship.
A feud with Ric Flair would follow and a brief pairing with Chris Masters showed promise, but his WWE career would reach its final peak with his involvement in the Elimination Chamber main event of New Year’s Revolution 2006. Carlito would mainly challenge for the IC and Tag Team Titles after that, forming a successful team with his brother, Primo, before appearing mainly on third string show Superstars.
He was released in 2010 following a violation of the Wellness Policy.
