When Shelton Benjamin made his main roster debut in late 2002 as part of the brilliant Team Angle stable, it was clear that 2003 was going to be a big year for the newcomer.

Aligned with Angle - the WWE Champion at the time - Benjamin was teamed with Charlie Haas (eventually christened The World’s Greatest Tag Team). At the side of the champ heading into WrestleMania season, Benjamin was given the dream start to his WWE career.

The duo of Haas and Benjamin claimed the WWE Tag Team Titles within a month of debuting on the main roster and went straight into a high profile match at No Way Out that same month. The pair would continue their winning ways at WrestleMania XIX by retaining the tag team titles on the grand stage; however, they would eventually relinquish the gold at Judgment Day in May.

After another run with the tag straps, Benjamin moved to Raw and scored a huge win over Triple H. A feud with Evolution soon developed and Benjamin won the IC Title from Randy Orton shortly after. However, despite great matches, he lacked the mic skills necessary to break the main event barrier.

With three IC Titles, two Tag Team Championships and a US Title run, Benjamin left WWE in 2010 after floundering on the ECW brand.
