10 Most Underrated WWE Ruthless Agression Era Stars
4. Paul London
A standout on the independent circuit, Paul London quickly made a name for himself in Ring of Honor in 2002 with his impressive aerial skills and great matches, facing off with the likes of Bryan Danielson, AJ Styles, and Samoa Joe.
As such, it didn’t take him long to get noticed by WWE and London was signed by the company in 2003. Making his mainstream debut in memorable fashion, London’s first SmackDown appearance remarkably came opposite Brock Lesnar in a bout for the WWE Championship. Not so remarkably, it would last just one minute.
After a short-lived tag team with fellow Lesnar victim, Brian Kendrick, and a brief tag title run with Billy Kidman, London received a decent push as Cruiserweight Champion. However, he was rarely given the green light to perform on the main event stage.
London would soon find himself thrown back into the tag ranks with the returning Brian Kendrick. The determined twosome would go on to make the tandem a surprising success, clocking the longest tag title reign in SmackDown history at 331 days.
While his partner would go on to greater prominence as The Brian Kendrick on SmackDown, London wasn’t so fortunate. At the very same time his partner was amid the biggest push of his career, London received his marching orders.
