Once the Raw and Smackdown rosters unofficially merged in 2011, Smackdown became entirely missable.

Sure, it was still the wrestling show and had showcased some great wrestling matches week after week, but as far as storylines go, you could miss every single episode of Smackdown and not miss a thing. The head storyline writers had basically forgot about the blue team.

That is, until 2013.

Alberto Del Rio had just turned babyface (although he turned back heel for the Christmas episode of Raw, oddly enough). He stood up for Ricardo Rodriguez, who was being bullied by Big Show, which led to a Last Man Standing match for the World Heavyweight Championship on the January 11 episode of Smackdown.

After an emotional match, Del Rio turned the announce table over on top of Big Show, burying him and keeping him down for a 10 count, winning the World Heavyweight Championship. For the first time in over a year, there was something of significance happening on Smackdwon, and Del Rio's victory actually overshadowed the in-ring return to Smackdown of The Rock earlier in the night.

Interestingly enough, two of the most underrated moments in Smackdown history involved Big Show losing a Last Man Standing match. Who woulda thunk it, huh?
