Remember when Sheamus was WWE World Heavyweight Champion? Incredibly that was a mere eight months ago, although it certainly isn’t reflected in his current standing.

In a similar situation to that of Del Rio, Sheamus is one of the more seasoned main eventers on the WWE’s books, with Royal Rumble, World Title and King of the Ring wins under his belt. Okay, maybe that third one doesn’t help my point, but you get the picture either way.

Unlike Del Rio, Sheamus can at least say he’s featuring on TV slightly more often, but it’s in a largely meaningless capacity. Or at least, not the kind of capacity you’d expect from someone of his calibre.

I’m not necessarily suggesting he should be back in a main event role—not by a long shot. But the bully shtick he was rolling with upon returning with his new look in March of last year was pretty effective for a short time. Until, of course, a Kiss Me Arse match laid waste to any momentum he’d managed to assemble.

A return to the bully days could work out quite well, especially with the imminent Cruiserweight influx...
