10 Most Underwhelming WWE Superstar Returns
9. Tatanka
Believe it or not, Tatanka has returned to the WWE multiple times since his incredible run in the early '90s. And almost every time, his homecoming has been met with the sound of dead crickets.
Probably the most egregious of these was his most recent appearance at WrestleMania 32 in the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. In a match that featured two former wrestling legends - Tatanka and Diamond Dallas Page - the only entrant anyone seemed to care about was the oafish Shaquille O'Neil. And even that wasn't really played like a big deal.
Maybe it was all the heavy lifting the announce team did trying to get Shaq's "surprise" appearance over, but they were downright lethargic when it came to even recognizing Tatanka, despite him being decked out in old school, Native American ring attire.
Byron Saxton: Ya got Tatanka in there.
Michael Cole: Tatanka's here??
Byron Saxton: Yeah.
Michael Cole: Oh there he is, with Diamond Dallas Page!
[All of the silence.]
Look, no one's saying Tatanka is as memorable or legendary as Hulk Hogan or Randy Savage, but c'mon guys, at least take a quick scan of the ring before the match starts and take note of the old dude wearing tribal face paint and matching loincloth.
