10 Most Underwhelming WWE Superstar Returns
4. Brian Christopher
Brian "Grandmaster Sexay" Christopher and Scotty Too Hotty somehow managed to become one of the most over tag teams of the Attitude Era, despite having one of the dorkiest, cheesiest gimmicks of all time. These two whacky hip-hop aficionados delighted audiences all over the world with their ridiculous threads and terrible dancing.
That wasn't the case in 2011, when Christopher randomly appeared on an episode of RAW to talk trash about his real life father, Jerry Lawler, as part of a feud between Lawler and Michael Cole. It was...awkward.
There were so many strange dichotomies happening when he was re-introduced to the WWE universe. Everything about the way he was introduced - being aligned with Cole, outing his dad's dirty laundry in front of millions of people, wearing a Guy Fieri haircut and the same street clothes as every middle-aged meathead pounding shots at a cowboy-themed bar on a Thursday night - made him an instant heel with the crowd.
And yet, everything about the way he came down to the ring - the classic video package, the overenthusiastic dancing, the excitable mugging - made it seem like the crowd was supposed to be cheering him. Which they most definitely did not.
Things only got worse once he launched into his "daddy issues" tirade. The segment was meant to blur the lines of kayfabe in an engrossing, Jerry Springer sort of way, but it only gave credence to all the dead crowds out there who don't pop for the old-timers.
