10 Most Undeserved Pushes In WWE History

2. Mabel

The gargantuan Nelson Frazier ticked Vince McMahon's 'big man' box. And then some. Frazier debuted in the WWF under the name Mabel in 1993 as part of the Men on a Mission tag team. The face tag team, who just wanted to bring some darn positive change to the inner city, were a poor but ultimately harmless midcard act. They weren't good, but they weren't terribly offensive. Well, no more so than any number of other gimmicks and wrestlers of the era. After a couple of years chasing the titles and having crap maches, the unthinkable happened: the WWF turned Mabel heel and starting getting him ready for the big push. He won the 1995 King of the Ring tournament and was positioned as one of, if not the, top heel in the company. Times were hard. Fortunately for fans and rather unfortunately for Mabel, his reckless behaviour and penchant for injuring his co-workers put a stop to the feud before it could even really begin. Mabel managed to seriously injure The Undertaker and WWF Champion Diesel in a short period of time. His days in the company were numbered and after putting over The Undertaker in December, he was released soon after. But just how did Mabel make it to the point where he could potentially be challenging for the WWF Title in the main event of one of the company's biggest events? Because Vince likes big guys and will always see body mass as being a bigger draw than actual talent and ability. The mid-90s is generally seen as the WWF's nadir and Mabel's monster push has a lot to do with that.
