10 Most Undeserving Hell In A Cell Competitors In WWE History
2. Rikishi
Nothing good ever comes from starting a story without knowing the ending. When "Stone Cold" Steve Austin needed to take time off in late 1999, WWF wrote him off by running him over with a car, and hyping the mystery identity of the driver in Austin's absence. The list of potential culprits was long and star-studded. The Rock, Triple H, Mr. McMahon, it could have been any of these. Instead, it was revealed to be... Rikishi. Rikishi, who up until this point was most famous for dancing, putting his backside in peoples' faces, putting on sunglasses and dancing some more. His reasoning was that over the years, white stars like Bruno Sammartino, Bob Backlund and Hulk Hogan had been pushed over Samoans like Peter Maivia and Jimmy Snuka. As he famously said " did it for da Rock". Fans just did not buy Rikishi as the bad man. While he had high profile matches with Austin and The Rock, he turned face just over five months after this match. While he may not have deserved to be in a Hell in a Cell match with the likes of The Undertaker, Triple H and Kurt Angle he made the most of his time in it. He was famously chokeslammed from the Cell into a truck filled with wood chips.
