10 Most Unique Tactics Ever Used In A Royal Rumble

10. Road Dogg Clings To Life

The New Age Outlaws became such huge babyface stars as part of D-Generation X that some fans forgot just how great of heels they were. When the team returned to their villainous roots, joining Triple H and X-Pac in a reunion of the revolutionary faction, fans got a taste of just how despicable the Outlaws could be. While "Badass" Billy Gunn was largely a cocky, arrogant heel, Road Dogg was a cowardly heel, one who could deliver the finest of tongue lashings but readily admitted his fear when faced with the challenge of Superstars the likes of the APA.

During the 2000 Royal Rumble match, Dogg demonstrated his cowardice in one of the most unique and entertaining tactics ever seen in the bout. The second-generation star, and member of the legendary Armstrong wrestling family, comically latched wrapped himself around the bottom rope, enduring the abuse of his fellow Superstars but holding on so tightly that his opponents would tire themselves out and, eventually, leave him alone.

Clinging to the ropes like he was clinging to life, Dogg enjoyed a 20-minute stay in the match, most of which was spent holding on for dear life to the bottom rope. He would eventually be eliminated by, of all people, tag team partner Gunn but not before proving that being the most cowardly Superstar in the contest is not necessarily a bad thing.
