10 Most Unique Ways Wrestlers Took WWE Finishers
8. AJ Styles (Superman Punch)
Thankfully, due to the excellence of AJ Styles, said "next entry" is hardly tough to write.
If you've never seen them, do yourself a favour and go back to watch AJ's back-to-back pay-per-view matches against Roman Reigns at Payback and Extreme Rules 2016. Both are shining examples of how good Roman can be when he's in there with the right worker, and they also exhibited the inventiveness of Styles.
At Payback, he took a crunching Superman Punch mid-air and crumpled to the mat like his skull had just been caved in. Pay close attention to the way AJ landed. Despite looking like he'd just face-planted the canvas and suffered a broken nose, he actually touched down on his left leg before buckling and selling the blow.
Timing was everything here, and both men were spot on. The bump was so good that cutting off AJ's springboard attempts became a regular highlight of his WWE matches. None were as visually stunning as this one was.
