10 Most Unlikely WWE World Champions Ever

7. Christian

Like him or not, Christian has consistently been one of the most solid in-ring grapplers under the WWE banner over the past 15 years. Regardless of scenario, opponent or time allotted, the man always comes up trumps with something watchable, a true testament to his skills and knowledge of the WWE system. When teaming with storyline brother, Edge, it became clear that higher-ups saw far more main event potential in the 'Rated-R Superstar' than Christian. After a run in TNA yielded an NWA World Title run, Captain Charisma returned to WWE in early-2009, instantly appearing on the shoddy ECW brand. It was an auspicious start to life back in WWE, but talent Christian diligently went about business as usual, having some of the best matches on weekly wrestling television. Once it became clear that Edge's career was coming to an end due to injury, Christian was thrust into the spotlight, piecing together an epic Ladder Match with Alberto Del Rio which saw him capture his first World Heavyweight Title in WWE. Quickly losing the belt to Randy Orton, the guy would have one of the best feuds of the 2011 Summer with Orton, winning the title for a second time.
