10 Most Unmemorable Title Reigns In WWE History
2. Steve Blackman (WWE Hardcore Championship)
For much of its existence, the WWE Hardcore Championships was a comedic title that was passed around from wrestler to wrestler, on an almost weekly basis.
One of the men who had multiple lengthy reigns as hardcore champ was 'The Leather Weapon' Steve Blackman. In fact, the martial artist turned sports entertainer held this less than prestigious strap for 89 days, at one point in 2000.
However, there are a couple of reasons no one really remembers or talks about Blackman's hardcore exploits. First off, 'The Lethal Weapon' was not one of the Attitude Era's most charismatic performers, to put it mildly.
Moreover, by the time 2000 rolled around, fans had already seen plenty of wrestlers hit with kendo sticks and less than durable looking garbage cans. In other words, the novelty of WWE's brand of hardcore wrestling was beginning to wear thin.
Still, WWE decided to keep the title around for another two years or so, before unifying it with the Intercontinental Championship in 2002.
