10 Most Unprofessional Performances In AEW History

1. Max Caster Takes It Too Far

Cry Me A River Thumb
AEW

Max Caster’s gimmick is - to use the vernacular of the young person - to say “out of pocket” things that draw an astonished, delighted gasp from the audience. It’s tricky, in his defence: he has to walk so closely towards the line that he is constantly in danger of crossing it.

Weird as it is, being an obnoxious piece of work who takes it too far is his profession - but he has taken going too far…much too far before.

He made light of victims of sexual assault with his vile, wildly misjudged line about the Duke lacrosse team back in 2021. In the same rap, he slut-shamed Julia Hart and mocked Simone Biles for experiencing mental health problems.

Ugly and insensitive even in the parameters of the heel character he worked under at the time, it was unprofessional in and of itself - and doubly so, given that this episode had an adverse effect on the career of his tag team partner Anthony Bowens.

Caster’s all-too-candid, unprovoked social media comments continue to have this effect. Increasingly unpopular in certain circles and nowhere near as over as they once were, the Acclaimed get the heat when the team has little to do with it.
