10 Most Unprofessional Performances In AEW History

8. Jon Moxley Doesn’t Care About Full Gear

Jon Moxley is a genuine soul who cannot allow himself to do something that he doesn’t want to do.

This is an enviable quality, particularly for a babyface. When he’s dialled in, Jon Moxley is an electrifying, authentic experience - all too rare in an often formal and homogenised pro wrestling landscape.

Conversely, when Jon Moxley isn’t into something, it’s very obvious, and very distracting. If the character doesn’t give a toss about what’s happening in a story, the audience can’t, either.

Ahead of Full Gear 2022, MJF was either in or being courted by the Firm stable - the purpose of which was rendered pointless when CM Punk was suspended. The idea that the Firm was to influence the World title match was a red herring designed to obscure the William Regal turn. It was all a bit unwieldy, and got in the way of MJF Vs. Mox II as a big-time one-on-one PPV attraction, and Mox seemed baffled - and disinterested - by the mysyery storyline.

On the go-home Dynamite, MJF and Mox met face-to-face - and the latter was so bemused that it was unprofessional. He barely bothered to unpack the story, speaking in a low, detached way, and wondered aloud what day the pay-per-view was scheduled for. Saturday? Sunday?

He didn’t care - but his job was to make you care.
