8. Team WWE Vs. The Nexus - WWE SummerSlam 2010

On the subject of insulting timescales, John Cena committed a similar offence at the expense of another act riding a wave of momentum - The Nexus. It took the 'Face That Runs The Place' just 1:37 to wipe them out.

With all members of both teams eliminated bar Cena, Justin Gabriel and Wade Barrett, the Englishman rolled up the mat and drilled Cena with a DDT on the exposed concrete. Matt Striker gravely intoned that Cena's face had been 'splattered'. Selling the moment in his best Owen Hart voice, Jerry Lawler was worried that the limp Cena hadn't moved. Gabriel practically licked his lips as he readied himself for the 450 splash. There was no way Cena was kicking out of this!

He was right. Cena didn't even take the move. Magically back from the dead, Cena easily rolled out of harm's way and handily dispatched Gabriel before trapping Barrett in the STF, showing absolutely no ill effects of the move which had knocked his lights out just over a minute and a half earlier.

Edge and Chris Jericho would later hammer Cena on the latter's podcast for this diabolical act of career homicide, and rightly so. Barrett in particular had all the tools to do something great in WWE, but this figurative castration saw to that.
