7. Goldberg Vs. Brock Lesnar - WWE WrestleMania XX

Billed with some justification as a dream match, Goldberg Vs. Lesnar, while predictable - Golderg had already announced his intentions to leave - was an enticing prospect, nonetheless.

Even though Goldberg had been the recipient of some shoddy booking, and Lesnar was a lock to win, the novelty of an inter-brand bout between the two similar behemoths was still the most anticipated on a stacked card. That was until the news broke just before 'Mania that Lesnar would follow Goldberg out of the door to pursue a career in the NFL. The hardcore MSG crowd caught wind of this and rained down a cacophony of jeers as the two men made their entrances.

In full wind-down mode, Lesnar and Goldberg spat their dummies out and assembled a contest, if you can call it that, consisting of so little action and effort that the deafening boos somehow intensified throughout its 13:42 duration. Consequently, the match was somehow both fascinating and interminable. Out of spite, WWE had Goldberg go over instead, but the result was ultimately meaningless. Both felt like winners having left completely miserable environments, and took their frustrations out in a pathetically half-ar*ed display.
