5. John Cena Vs. Brock Lesnar - WWE Extreme Rules 2012

Cena's second entry on this list has nothing to do with his going over here. That probably wasn't his decision, though it's not hard to imagine him suggesting it.

No, Cena gets the nod here for the mystifying and impromptu decision to cut a post-match promo, after Lesnar had rendered him a hard-way bloody pulp. There's one argument for this - boxers do it after all - but boxers are usually cloaked in sweat, their eyes grotesquely swollen, barely comprehensible between deep breaths. Boxers, too, don't get smashed with an array of deadly weapons. Cena, as ever, was eloquent, steady, and able to walk unassisted. He didn't even need water.

Lesnar was reportedly furious backstage, but not as furious as those watching RAW the next night, hoping for Cena to make good on his promise to 'go away for a while'. That might have resulted in his vacating the throne temporarily to make way for then-WWE champion CM Punk. But, no. He was back the next day to set up a feud with John Laurinaitis, with whom he headlined the next pay per view at the expense of Daniel Bryan's WWE title challenge.
