5. Tiger Ali Singh

Tiger Ali Singh debuted on Raw on 21 April 1997, without an entrance, in a miserably boring bout against Salvatore Sincere. He wouldn’t be seen on TV again until August, relegated to Shotgun Saturday Night. The crowd and company’s combined apathy toward the second-generation grappler was crystal clear, which is why it’s mind-boggling that Singh won a tournament the week before his televised debut.

Singh won the second Kuwait Cup, a non-televised tournament in the Middle East as part of the company’s international expansion. The event wasn’t Jobbermania – it included several stars at the time like Stone Cold, Bret Hart, and Sycho Sid. Singh notched up two impressive victories along the way, defeating Mankind in the semifinals and Owen Hart in the finals.

Then he was rarely seen again.
