10 Most Unwanted Records In WWE Royal Rumble History

1. The Double Whammy…

Our final unwanted Royal Rumble record afflicts someone who’s already featured on this list—the evergreen Bob Backlund.

Backlund scoops the rarest of all double-whammies for his record of being the only man to have managed a Rumble appearance of over 60 minutes as well as a Rumble appearance of under 60 seconds. Simply put, he’s had the best of times and the worst of times.

After that titanic 61-minute effort in 1993, just 12 months later Backlund was eliminated after a mere 41 seconds by a rampaging Diesel, as if to signify a changing of the guard. Then, compounding his misery further still, he lasted even less time the following year—just 16 seconds—to make for a fairly rapid fall from grace.

That being said, legends like Kane and Kurt Angle also feature on that sub-60-second performance list, and neither of them managed to match Backlund’s hour-long stint, so at least he’s got that going for him...

Mind you, given his recent run with the company, don’t be at all surprised to see a potential outing from Backlund this year—and likewise, don’t be surprised to see it clock in below that 60-second mark.
