10 Most Vicious Wrestling Manager Beatdowns

8. Sid Stops Jose Lothario’s Heart

During the 1996 Survivor Series, Shawn Michaels defended the WWF Championship against Sycho Sid. In Sid’s corner was pretty much the entire New York City crowd. In Michaels’ corner was the reason why: Jose Lothario.

A veteran of the Texas and Florida wrestling scenes, Lothario was now an elderly gent, serving in the Mick role to Michaels’ Rocky. Of course, Mick was charismatic and entertaining. Lothario was not, rapidly sucking the sex appeal away from the Heartbreak Kid.

In addition to fans, Lothario also cost Michaels the title. As Sid grabbed a camera while Michaels’ back was turned, Lothario hopped on the apron. Seeing a new target on his radar, Sid whacked Lothario instead, causing the old man to crumble to the floor and clutch his chest. Michaels went to check on his manager, leaving Sid to capitalize and win the gold.
