10 Most Vicious Wrestling Manager Beatdowns

7. Original Midnight Express Bloodies Jim Cornette

In November 1988, two ghosts from Jim Cornette’s past came back for vengeance. The tennis-racket wielding manager took a phone call during Stan Lane’s squash match, and it ended with Corny demanding the caller show his face. Seconds later, Randy Rose and Dennis Condrey hit the ring, attacking Lane and Bobby Eaton on the outside.

Rose had teamed with Condrey years prior in Alabama as The Midnight Express. When Condrey moved to the Mid-South territory, he met up with Eaton and Cornette to form the team most recognized as the Express. However, he would later take a sabbatical, leaving a spot open for Lane to fill.

Well, Rose and Condrey reunited under the tutelage of a new manager, Paul E. Dangerously. Cornette met Dangerously with the help of a cellphone cracked over his skull, busting open the Dairy Queen basher and igniting a hot rivalry in the process.
