10 Most Volatile WWE Crowds Ever

3. Raw (15th August 2005)

It€™s not just pay-per-views that bring the lively crowds. If the time, the place, and the situation is right, then even the more routine set of Monday Night Raw can provide the backdrop for audience volatility. And that€™s exactly what happened in the build up to SummerSlam 2005, when Shawn Michaels took to the ring in Montreal. As in, the man who beat their hero Bret in the very same city back in 1997, legitimately ending the Hitman€™s career with the WWE. Safe to say, they were not going to welcome Michaels warmly. What followed was an absolutely masterful performance from the Heartbreak Kid, as he played the role of heel to perfection. Then right when he had the audience baying for blood, Bret€™s music hit. Pandemonium ensues. Except, Bret wasn€™t really there. It was all a ploy from Michaels himself, and he was quick to inform the fans of that. In a mere matter of moments, the arena had transformed from a state of contempt to ecstasy and then back again. It remains one of the most volatile crowd reactions in WWE history, and a segment that€™s well worth watching if you haven€™t done so already.
