If Daniel Cormier hadn't lost to Jon Jones on two occasions, you'd surely have to put him in the conversation of greatest ever to don the fingerless gloves.

I mean, you still can, as he definitely is one of the best in recent memory. However, those two losses seem to have taken some of the shine off an outstanding run up until that point.

However, despite those setbacks (and his recent loss to Stipe Miocic), it is worth reminding ourselves just how multi-talented 'DC' is as a mixed martial artist and why he's one of the purest examples of that title on the active roster.

It's well known just how good a wrestler 'DC' is at this point and his Olympic standard ability has routinely been the difference for him when he's had to put it all on the line in the Octagon.

However, what often goes uncredited is just how good a striker 'DC' is. Don't forget, Cormier has knocked out his fair share of opponents and even managed to spark out a golden gloves boxing champion in Miocic. Then factor in a brown belt in Jiu-Jitsu - seen clearly in his choking out of Anthony Johnson (twice), Dan Henderson and Derrick Lewis - and you find yourself with one of the most well-rounded stars of the modern UFC era.
